Dirty Trick
So I am left with the question if I should be on the internet during class. Since we have gotten wireless at school, I have gotten in the habit of having a browser open while I’m taking notes in class. That way if the Professor talks about something that I want to find more about I can do a quick Google search. I also keep one of my tabs (because I use FireFox) open as my Gmail account. I do this so that if I get any important messages I can check them. So I got this email sometime after I left my house for 7spot and my ANT 111 class.
The only problem, was the link was different. I clicked it, figuring it would pertain to class. Well, it was a link to a porn sight! Somebody had watched me enough to see what my email address is, and sent it to me so that I would open it during class. I herd a couple of guys in the back row snickering at me. I closed the tab as quickly as I could, very embarrassed. I was also thankful that I had my volume muted or else I would have been the laughing stock of the class. Jacob the "guy who looks at porn during class," yeah, that’s not me. I was glad that I did not audibly yell or something too, because I was that surprised. I was not sure how to respond, so I sent the person back this email;
So we’ll see what happens. At least I got the opportunity to share with them about Christ.
What's up Jacob? Listen, I made a website for discussion and homework/studying help regarding our Anthropology 111 class. I 'm spreading the link as much as I can trying to get as many people on it as possible, hoping a lot of people want to help each other get a good grade in that class. Wow, you got me good. Right during class (I’m sure that’s how you planned it)… pretty smart figuring out my address too. Well I’m not sure who you are and I’m not really too worried about it… I’ll just have to be more cautious about opening mail during class. Since you sent me a message I figured I should send something back. I want to let you know that Jesus Christ came and died for you and me. It says that if we believe with our hearts and confess with our mouths that Jesus is lord and that he died on the cross for us that we shall be saved. I can tell you this is the truth, I was addicted to drugs, pornography; but I have been set free. You can read some of my testimony if you are interested at Jubilee Youth Ranch’s Website. Now it’s just about walking it out it out for me. I wanted to let you know that Jesus wants you to come to Him and He will accept you. Also, if your tired of Pornography in your life (I believe that it is destructive in anybody’s life) here are a couple of recourses for you.
A book that I am currently reading by Mark B. Kastleman, Understanding and Overcoming an addiction to the Drug of the New Millenium: Pornography. Healing Hearts & Mending Minds. It is a really good book, I am really enjoying it and it’s insightful.
A website that is also very beneficial is www.xxxchurch.com. This has also been a very valuable website.
