Ahhh Grasshopper
When I think about learning to write in HTML it reminds me of MC’s. During my time with the Master’s Commission we work had the amazing opportunity to work for Eventforce, which works some Microsoft Conferences. What we did varied a lot from conference to conference and person to person. We did stuff like preparing rooms for different sessions, acting as human arrows, bag-builds, greeting, information booth… etc. Because of the MC’s great work over the years, Microsoft has open up the door for more and new jobs. They gave us data recording (AV-stuff) and helping out in the speakers resources room. Doing these conferences were some great experiences. This had to do with the people I was working with (MGB in 2004 had 300 MC’s working at one point), being a part of the actual conferences, and the places that the conferences were held (Atlanta Georgia, New Orleans Louisiana, LA / Anaheim / San Diego California). Why I mention this, is I am reminded about some of the attendees of these conferences. They would come in with shirts with catch phrases such as “Lets Code” or “I love to Code.” I always thought that was a nerdy thing to say, but I now find myself learning how to code. Am I that dorky…? I don’t think so but maybe I am heading that direction.
My most current endeavor in coding is trying to create my own CSS style sheet. This blog is on a prefabricated template, and has very little of my own code in it. I have changed a few small things, such as the anchor attributes (what my links look like). I creating my own in FrontPage and hope someday switch out for the template that I am currently using. Here is a list of some of the things that I am currently trying to incorporate into my site:
- Google search form (my site is not in their index)
- New Banner
- Scrolling menu that is really cool (this is a long time off, and I am getting some help from my friend on working with the FLASH)
I have been staying busy, coming home and spending my spare time just playing. We will have to see what is the next glitter object that comes up.
